Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Bible First ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Bible First iOS application ("the App"), how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs (IDFA)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
• Location data
• Contacts or photos
• Browsing history or app usage patterns
• Any data from your prayer journal or favorites list

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only using iOS browser storage (WKWebView localStorage):

Favorites

When you save a topic to your favorites by tapping the heart icon, the topic name, category, and emoji icon are stored on your device. This data never leaves your device.

Prayer Journal

Prayer requests you add — including the name you pray for, the prayer text, and any tags you assign — are stored locally on your device. This is personal and sensitive information. Bible First never accesses, reads, or transmits your prayer data.

App Settings and Preferences

Any display preferences or settings you configure within the App are stored locally on your device.

All locally stored data remains under your control. To delete this data, you may uninstall the App from your device. Note that uninstalling and reinstalling the App will permanently erase your favorites and prayers, as there is no cloud backup.

4. Microphone Access

Bible First includes an optional voice prayer feature that allows you to speak your prayers aloud and have them transcribed into text.

• Microphone access is never activated without your explicit interaction — you must tap the microphone button to begin recording.
• Audio is processed by iOS's built-in speech recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer). Apple's privacy policies govern this processing.
• Bible First does not record, store, or transmit any audio. The microphone is used only to generate a real-time text transcription that is placed into the prayer form.
• You may deny or revoke microphone permission at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone on your iPhone. Revoking this permission disables voice input but does not affect any other App functionality.

Microphone permission is declared in the App under the key NSMicrophoneUsageDescription as required by Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.

5. Third-Party Services

Bible First uses the following third-party services:

Apple Speech Recognition

When you use the voice prayer feature, audio may be transmitted to Apple's servers for processing. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable this feature at any time by revoking microphone permission.

Google Fonts (Website Only)

This website (not the app) loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log your IP address and browser information as part of this request, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. No fonts are loaded over the network within the App itself.

Bible First does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, social media SDKs, or other data-collecting third-party services.

6. Children's Privacy

Bible First does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the App does not collect any personal information from any user, it is inherently safe for users of all ages. Parents and guardians may permit children to use the App freely.

7. Data Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends primarily on the security of your device. We recommend:

• Using a strong passcode or Face ID/Touch ID on your iPhone
• Keeping your iOS software up to date
• Enabling iCloud backup if you wish to preserve your App data during device transfers

Bible First does not transmit your data over any network, so there is no risk of data interception during normal App use.

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Since Bible First does not collect or store your data on any external server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. All data is held exclusively on your device and is fully under your control.

To delete your App data:

• Delete individual prayers: Swipe left on a prayer in the Prayer tab and tap Delete.
• Remove a favorite: Tap the heart icon on any saved topic to unsave it.
• Delete all App data: Uninstall Bible First from your iPhone. This permanently and irreversibly removes all locally stored data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

We will not change this policy in a way that weakens your privacy protections without providing prominent notice.
